Mary Kennedy Thompson became CEO of BNI and its affiliates on July 8, 2024, leading the world’s largest business networking organization with 320,000+ members across 76 countries. Prior to BNI, she served as COO of Neighborly, overseeing operations for 30 brands in home services. She also led Mr. Rooter® Plumbing as president and held executive roles at Cookies by Design.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Mary has over 30 years in franchising, earning industry recognition, including the IFA’s William Rosenberg Foundation Leadership Award and Bonny Levine Award. She is a Certified Franchise Executive and serves as Vice Chair and 2024 Chair-Elect of the International Franchise Association. Mary holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a mini-MBA in franchise management from the University of St. Thomas. With a proven track record in leadership, she continues to drive growth and innovation in the franchise sector.
