Kevin Hein is co-chair of Akerman’s Franchise and Licensing Sector Team, advising U.S. and international franchisors, licensors, and dealers on legal matters, including trademark counseling, registration, and litigation. With over two decades of experience, he specializes in franchise law, guiding businesses on disclosure requirements, compliance, sales, development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate counseling, bankruptcy, and dispute resolution.

Kevin has extensive experience in the restaurant industry, advising on corporate formation, real estate, leasing, financing, and franchise relationships. He also works with healthcare and wellness clients, ensuring compliance with corporate practice of medicine laws, fee-splitting, Stark regulations, HIPAA, and other healthcare regulations. His expertise helps businesses structure franchise systems and licensing programs to align with federal and state laws.
