We offer reactive and pre planned drainage works to domestic and commercial customers including CCTV drain surveys, home buyer drains surveys, drain cleaning and clearing and all forms of drainage work from repairs to pre-planned maintenance.

We pride ourselves in being a professional and reliable drainage company with a high standard of customer service. Our team handles all maintenance and emergency tasks at times convenient for our clients, ensuring minimal interference with their residential and business activities.

Established in 2016 by Gavin Dimmock, the business originated from Gavin's experience in the drainage industry. Gavin made the strategic decision in 2019 to expand the business, undertaking larger projects and assembling a team to facilitate its growth Since then, the company has experienced expansion, now delivering a comprehensive range of drainage services to both commercial and domestic clients throughout the Southeast.

Recognising untapped potential in areas outside their initial coverage, Gavin saw the need for their services among commercial clients with multiple locations. In response, he initiated the franchise process in 2022 after having to decline work from commercial clients seeking services in areas beyond their reach.

Our client base

We work with a wide range of clients; and the data show on average the split is around 70% commercial and 30% domestic customers (householders).

Our domestic work is based around emergency call outs which we respond to as quickly as possible, where possible we always look to offer a same day attendance.

We already work with commercial customers and partners including companies that operate nationally. Some of our commercial work is carried out based on preventative maintenance agreements. We also offer a commercial call out service to deal with drainage problems that require fast and effective solutions.

What is a typical day for a franchisee

As a franchisee with The Drain Guys, whether you are a single-operator or management franchise, your daily responsibilities would involve:

  • Responding to customer enquiries and booking in the work
  • Planning the work and making sure that the right equipment is available for each job.
  • Carrying out the work either yourself or allocating to your engineers
  • Invoicing the customer and collecting the money at the end of the job
  • Recruiting and training new members of staff.
  • Managing the admin and financial tasks. (with our help, guidance, and support)
  • Marketing your business locally to maximise market share in your area.

Who are we looking for?

Ambition: Our ambition is to become biggest and best providers of drainage services in the UK. As such, it is key that our Franchise partners have a drive to be the biggest and best within their own territories.

Hard work: Dedication, perseverance and full commitment will be required to establish your business. We’re with you every step of the way but there are no shortcuts to success. simply, you’ll get out what you put in.

Experience: Perhaps you are a drainage engineer or managed a team before, previously run a business or have a great background in customer service. Running a Drain Guys Franchise will allow you to draw on your expertise and bring value to your investment.

Adaptability: We’re constantly updating and developing our operations to better meet the needs of customers, so you’ll need to be open to exploring new and exciting opportunities to ensure that we stay ahead of the game.

Our Training Program

  • We operate a core training program that covers systems we use for marketing administration, invoicing, and accounting. 
  • We offer training on sales and take you through the process of building a database of clients.
  • We offer technical training where you are out with our engineers doing live jobs and getting an understanding of how we work.

How we will support you

  • You will have exclusive territory/territories.
  • Ongoing support on how to market your business.
  • Help with health and safety matters, including templates to work with. 
  • We have a Sales team in place that is always looking for new accounts that will benefit the network.
  • Our sales team will offer guidance and help to you when you are looking for your own national accounts.
